Shotton Mill Builds New Partnerships at LARAC 2026

Shotton Mill would like to extend its sincere thanks to LARAC for hosting another successful event and bringing together local authorities, resource management professionals, recycling specialists and industry leaders from across the UK.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for the Shotton Mill team to showcase the significant transformation taking place at the site and to engage directly with stakeholders from across the recycling and waste management sectors. Over the course of the event, the team welcomed visitors to the Shotton Mill stand, sharing updates on one of the UK's most significant industrial investment projects and discussing the important role recovered fibre will play in supporting a more sustainable future for paper manufacturing.

Representing Shotton Mill at the event were Robbie Warden, Senior Fibre Sourcing Manager, David Gigg, Connor Gorman and Alper Sener Seyhan, who met with a wide range of local authority representatives, existing partners and prospective new suppliers. The team held numerous productive discussions around fibre sourcing, recycling infrastructure, material quality and the opportunities for greater collaboration across the supply chain.

As Shotton Mill continues to develop its new operations, including its state-of-the-art 100% recovered fibre containerboard paper machine and tissue manufacturing facilities, building strong partnerships with local authorities and recycling partners remains a key priority. LARAC 2026 provided the ideal platform to strengthen existing relationships, explore new opportunities and discuss how organisations can work together to maximise recycling rates and support the UK's growing circular economy.

Throughout the event, there was significant interest in Shotton Mill's vision for sustainable paper production and its commitment to transforming recovered fibre into high-quality paper products. The positive conversations held during the conference highlighted the shared ambition across the sector to improve resource efficiency, increase recycling performance and create long-term environmental and economic benefits.

Robbie Warden, Senior Fibre Sourcing Manager, commented:

"LARAC provided a fantastic opportunity to engage with local authorities from across the UK and discuss the important role recovered fibre plays in supporting a truly circular economy. We had some very positive conversations and look forward to building new partnerships and exploring opportunities to work together in the future."

The team would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit the Shotton Mill stand and learn more about the company's investment programme, sustainability ambitions and future growth plans.

The conversations started at LARAC 2026 will continue long after the event, and Shotton Mill looks forward to developing new partnerships and working collaboratively with local authorities and industry stakeholders as it helps shape the future of sustainable paper and packaging production in the UK.

Thank you to everyone who met with us. We look forward to continuing the conversation and building successful partnerships for the future.
